Character Overview A savage inhabitant of the frozen wastes, the Ice Troll is a recurring enemy.

The Ice Troll presented a specific technical hurdle: rendering convincing fur without destroying the polygon budget.

  • The Fur Challenge: Traditional fur cards were too expensive for our triangle limit. Instead, I sculpted the fur as stylized clumps and volumes directly into the high-poly mesh.

  • Silhouette: I focused on the overall silhouette of the fur tufts to ensure the character read well from afar while still retaing details when looking closer in VR
